CAMBODIA

Cambodia is officially called the Kingdom of Cambodia.  It is part of the southwestern Indochinese Peninsula in Southeast Asia.  The capitol of Cambodia is Phnom Penh (try pronouncing that!).  Most people in Cambodia speak Khmer and Buddhism is the religion that most Cambodians practice.  There are two main weather seasons in Camodia.  Monsoons, or very big storms with strong winds, are common between May and October.  During these months there is a lot of rain and humidity.  Lighter monsoons occur from November to March and it is not as rainy and mainly drier and cloudier.
Rice is a very important crop in Cambodia and it is grown more than any other crop in this country.  It is the main source of food for its people.  Cambodians also depend on fish and other livestock for food.  The cities in Cambodia are not extremely large and most people live in rural areas.
