It is your third day in the Big City. Today your group has decided to attend a Broadway performance. Based on your group's interests, choose the show listed below that would be best suited for your group to see. You can get a synopsis of each show by clicking on the titles below.
Once you have chosen the musical your group wants to see,
explore that show's website. Go to the link on the webpage where
it says "the show" or the "the musical" and read the entire overview of
that play. You can listen to excerpts from songs by going to the
"music" or "sights & sounds" links on each page. Open the file
from it's current location, and listen to it right at the computer.
You can also see photos from the show by looking in the gallery.
Activity
Write a short play, to be presented to the class, that
gives a brief overview of the play your group chose. Your play should
not be a shortened version of the play you chose to see. Instead,
find a creative way to present the story and themes of the play.
Each group member should have a role, and you should include whatever props
and costumes necessary to present your script. Your play should be
anywhere from 5-10 minutes long. You will be responsible for a typed
script on the day you present your play to the class.
